cub scout day camp

Jordan, Kelsey, Jayden and I survived a week of cub scout day camp. Unfortunately for us, we had an unusual hot spell that made for very hot temperatures that week. But other than the heat, we had a great time. Andrea McClealan was in charge of the whole thing, so of course, it was well run and the activities were a lot of fun! We had an olympic theme and each den represented different countries. I was able to choose Canada as our country and Allen just happened to travel there on business the first day of camp. It was fun to have him bring back some treasures to share with the boys.

Kelsey was a great little camper and had so much fun in the sibling den! Her favorite activity, like most of the kids at camp, was archery. In fact, that was each of my kids favorite activity and all three of them were able to shoot bulls eyes.

Jordan was my den chief and the two of us were able to work with Jayden's group. We were in charge of 11 six and seven year old boys. They were pretty good, except when it came to moving from one event to another. It was like trying to herd cats. Luckily, I had decided to make the boys hats with the canadian hat on them and it sure made it easy to spot when we had boys wandering off where they were not supposed to be. That was time well spent!

What a trooper to you are. I hate camping in hot weather unless we are in a lake or ocean every day, let alone keeping track of and teaching 11 little boys!! Wowza, you rock girl!
