Vacation part 2.1

The second part of our Monday was to head to the Yorktown interpretive center. I wish we had left more time for this part of the day, because it was a lot of fun for the kids! They had a lot of interactive displays and demonstrations. The gun and cannon firings were a definate favorite! Jordan really enjoyed the doctor explaining medical treatments of the time. Unfortunately, we had to leave this one early to get to the theater to see the film on Yorktown we had missed on our way into the museum.

The outdoor tent city was really interesting. I believe they said that six men would sleep in one tent. My three smallish kids were plenty cramped inside one tent, let alone full grown men!

Inside each tent was sample items the revolutionary soldiers would have had. It was great for the kids to explore the tents and the items inside. Once again, the fall leaves and gorgeouse suroundings were an added bonus!
