This evening will mark one week since little Jaimee's accident. It has been an amazing week for my family and we feel the spirit so strongly in our lives. We have had a chance to become close to many others who are supporting loved ones in ICU and have had the blessing of trying to give support and comfort to them in their time of need as well.
One of those families is in great need of your prayers at this time. Their 2 1/2 year old boy drown in a pool just two days before Jaimee's accident and we got news yesterday that his little body is breaking down and little Matthew has been given 24 hours to live. Please pray for his family at this difficult time!
Jaimee, on the other hand, has made great strides towards recovery. After a small setback last Thursday, She was placed on an oscillating ventilator to allow her lungs to heal without the pressure of a traditional ventilator. Her lungs were filled with fluid and she had three areas of air pockets in her chest and neck that were of concern. After she was put on that machine, my sister also learned how to help Jaimee's lungs drain through reflexology. Those two things in combination with fasting and prayer, Jaimee's lungs have dramatically improved and she will be able to come off that ventilator sometime later today barring no setbacks. It is after she is switched off that ventilator that we will have a better vision of what the future holds for her.
We have had some good neuralgic signs along the way, but they occurred before the crucial 72 hour mark where the brain swelling would maximize. While on this ventilator, she has to be medically paralyzed so no new neuralgic tests have been able to be performed.
I thank you all for your prayers and support of my family through this crazy time and am thankful for the added testimony that has grown in each of my family members as a result. I can not even describe how strong the spirit has been manifest in our lives and how comforted we feel. My family has truly been blessed through this process.

I missed the announcements at RS, but vaguely heard the name Jaimee mentioned and assumed she was an adult.....Not that it would make it any less sad, but I just now found out it was your 3 year old niece and my eyes filled with tears. I can't imagine what a parent would have to go through. I am happy to hear things are doing ok but we will remember her in our prayers.
i just read this and am praying for all families mentioned. there are many blessings that have occured and i hope there are many more to come ;).
Love you Karalee! I love that you had the bravery to follow thru on your prompting to ask the families of the other sick people, in beds near Jaimee, if they wanted their loved ones to have a blessing too. I love that your Dad was happy to give them blessings.
