Kukkiwon Certificate

After being a black belt for a year and a half, Jordan finally received his official Kukkiwon certificate. It was very anticlimactic, though. Derrick Kwak, Jordan's TaeKwonDo master will only give out the certificates during belt ceremonies. His intention is to make a big deal of their efforts and to recognize them for their hard work and accomplishments, but when you wait so long after the event to present the certificate, it loses its punch!
One reason that it wasn't as exciting for Jordan to be recognized in front of his TaeKwonDo school is because he came to the studio from an orchestra performance at the mall, and he was dressed in his tuxedo. He didn't even want to go forward to accept his award because he was quite embarrassed about what he was wearing. (I guess I should have brought his uniform for him to change into)

Despite the long wait, I am still proud of his hard work and accomplishments in TaeKwonDo. His master didn't think he was going to make it past a purple belt, but Jordan proved himself and taught his master not to judge a book by it's cover! Master Kwak underestimated Jordan's tenacity and dedication. ( The boy has been attending class for almost 6 years now, and has never once asked to quit!)

It will be interesting to see how far Jordan will go in TaeKwonDo.
