Spring Break

I am finally posting some pictures from our trip to Newport Beach for spring break. This was the first time we have ever pretty much spent the whole time just at the resort and my husband found that he actually enjoyed just relaxing and not doing much "going and doing"!!! This is a happy day for me! I LOVE spending lots of time at the pool (especially because my pool is green and unusable till we drain it and refill it) and spending time at the beach. Even all the time we spent in then villa was great. We had a lot of cloudy, cold weather while we were there, so we stayed in and played a ton of canasta.

Here is a photo taken on Easter Sunday. The resort was having an egg hunt, followed by crafts and photos with the Easter bunny. These two took too long getting dressed to go and missed the egg hunt. Luckily the workers notice them coming late and gave them some eggs anyway. I decided since we were there, we should take advantage of the photo op with the bunny. As you can see, Jayden was not thrilled with this idea and I had to threatend taking his newly recieved eggs away if he didn't sit with the bunny for a picture. He is just too cool for that kind of childish behavior, I suppose!

Tami came out on Monday with her kids to play with us and she picked the perfect day! Monday's weather was fabulous and we were able to go to the beach with the kids while Allen enjoyed a very hilly bike ride and time at the gym. Tami coming when she did was a HUGE blessing to me! I had found out about Natalie's death on Saturday afternoon and had a tape recorder of thoughts playing in my mind all Saturday and Sunday. It was a breath of fresh air to have a trip to the beach with my forever friend to break the cycle!!! Thanks so much for coming, Tami!!! ( I tried to add a slide show to this part of the post, but it was being difficult. I placed it in it's own post, so check out the previous post if you want to see pictures form my Monday adventures with Tami)

Monday's itenerary was a trip to the beach, back to the resort for a swim (to wash the sand off), chess, left over Easter ham dinner, and a trip to the fire pit to roast m
arshmellows for smores. Could
a spring break day get any better than that?
Tami and the boys slept the night and stayed till about 3 the next day. We awoke to an overcast day, and since more than half of us had gotten sunburned the day before at the beach, it was a good day to play at the resort's park area. Here is a photo of all the kids in the hotel lobby where we at lunch just before the Davis's had to get on the road to miss traffic.
